Tanjung Langsat Port Sdn. Bhd. plans to provide a functional facility in handling liquid bulk cargo at the Tanjung Langsat Industrial Area. Proposals have been made to upgrade the existing L-shape petrochemical jetty and to construct new jetties in accommodating the anticipated overall throughput. The new facilities are dedicated for the use of Dialog E & C Sdn. Bhd. in handling various forms of liquid bulk cargos.
The scope of work involves:
- To upgrade the existing jetty to accommodate the proposed largest vessels of 45,000 DWT for the front berth and dedicating the back berth for smaller vessels lesser than 15,000 DWT. The topside requirement shall be provided accordingly and assessment of the piping system, especially the pipe racks shall also be made. The structural strength of the reinforced concrete elements shall also be assessed in catering for the topside requirement, such as the loading arms, cranes and others;
- To construct 3 new jetties with double berthing capability, Berth No. 3 capable of catering VLCC, Berth No. 5 capable of catering for vessels in the range of 1,000 to 80,000 DWT with partial laden and the back berth capable of catering for vessels in the range of 5,000 DWT to 15,000 DWT;
- To construct necessary connection to the existing jetty or a connecting bridge; and
- To design for the dredging requirement in allowing the anticipated vessels to berth comfortably at the specified berthing area and the navigate safely within the approach channels.
