Detailed Design And Home Office Support For The “Projek Menaiktaraf Sungai Ampang Daerah Hulu Langat”, Selangor, MALAYSIA

The detailed design for the “Projek Menaiktaraf Ampang river Daerah Hulu Langat” was commissioned in September 2001. The total length involved is 5.7 km. The main objective of the Project is to improve the flow capacity of the Ampang River to be able to cater for the 100-year return period flood discharge.

The main components of scope of works are summarized as below :

• Review the hydrological and hydraulic studies for the whole Klang Valley basin which includes all the Klang River tributaries besides the Klang river itself;
• Detailed design to increase the conveyance of the river which comprises of deepening and widening of the river sections, realignment, bank protection using revetment, hydraulic structures, etc.; and
• Landscaping, other appurtenant structures and related facilities.
